Rites of Passage

About
Rites of Passage Ministry

Purpose Statement:

Learning life’s lessons by observing God and his awesome power promotes discipline and responsibility, yields service to the community and self-discovery while we learn through focused activities.

Scripture Base:

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

                                                                                                         Proverbs 22:6

Focus:

Embrace the teaching of our heritage.

Method:

Through characters in the Bible and African heritage instill a winning philosophy.  Activities must challenge students to win their goals and to win they must work hard.  Activities focus students to reach beyond their abilities.  Through activities students will recognize that no talent without hard work will yield success.  Activities must foster a complete mental commitment, an environment to relentlessly pursue total victory through God’s awesome power.

Challenge:

To create an environment that allows freedom of expression and the discovery of that vital part of themselves that is alive, energetic, creative and expansive.  This environment will accept feelings of joy and pain without judgment or fear (False Evidence Appearing Real).

End Goal:

Break the chains of identity and give them freedom of mind and spirit they deserve.
